Saddle Stitched Booklets – What Are The Benefits?
There are a number of different ways to bind a document, depending on your priorities. But you should never have to compromise on quality to get your document bound at the right price. Like most printers, we can advise on the method of binding according to the page count.
Saddle stitching is the most affordable and common form of binding for periodicals, booklets and catalogues. You can saddle stitch as few as 8 pages, going up in multiples of 4. The general rule of thumb is: “Under 48 always stitch, over 96 perfect bind.”
But what should you do when your brochure, booklet, catalogue or report is between 48 and 96 pages? First of all, ask us! If your document has 24 or more pages, we’ll saddle stitch and square back the spine to help stop it springing open.
If you are thinking of saddle stitching your booklet, you’ll be reassured to know that it’s:
– The least expensive of all binding options
– Fast turnaround on all our HP Indigo printed and saddle-stitched booklets.
– Easily available as we saddle stitch in-house
– Lies relatively flat
– Special gatefolds and foldouts are possible
– Can incorporate a self-cover or accommodate a separate cover
For all of these reasons and more, saddle stitching is the perfect and most economic binding solution for booklets and brochures with a relatively short shelf life, such as:
– Magazines
– Brochures
– Reports
– Programmes
– Marketing booklets
– Comic books
Our trade customers already know and love the benefits of saddle stitching, which makes them one of our most popular products.
